Arts Cafe Pops Up in Stoke-on-Trent this summer

£1,000 worth of ARTS COMMISSIONS AVAILABLE for pop Arts Cafe in Stoke-on-Trent this summer at Hunt & Darton Cafe – a project devised by live art duo Jenny Hunt & Holly Darton.

For four weeks in Stoke-on-Trent they will run a social and artistic hub: a place of engagement, spontaneity, action and artists alongside great food and drink. The café will run as a fully functioning café and micro‐venue. From the food that is served to the people who serve it, from the décor to the profit and loss sheets, everything will be served with a twist.

They are looking to commission 4 x artists working in performance & live art to join them for one day between the hours of 10am and 6pm for their café in Stoke-on-Trent as a guest waiter. Artists are required to creatively respond to the role of waiter.

The commissioning fee is £250. Please note this is an all-inclusive fee. – DEADLINE AUG 1

The project is a partnership with the North Staffordshire Creative People & Places Programme – Appetite,

[h2]HOW TO APPLY[/h2]

Please submit a short proposal if you wish to participate in the project. Your proposal should be no longer then 500 words and cover the following information:

  • Brief description of your practice
  • Commission proposal- please respond specifically to the call out
  • How do you foresee this being performed/displayed/used/ as part of the Cafe
  • Include a 50-word blurb/image of your work for publicity
  • Any supporting documentation including an up to date CV
  • For Guest Waiter application- please indicate when you are available to perform between 20th August and 14th September.
