Fragments, the first exhibition of 2016 at Foxlowe Arts Centre in Leek, Staffordshire, brings together bold and thought-provoking three-dimensional installations by Tracey Cartlidge and Danusha Komar.
Tracey Cartlidge’s work reflects a sense of the beauty and fragility of human and other organic forms while responding to themes of greed, vanity, consumption, injustice, subordination, destruction and the inevitability of loss. Working organically with often discarded materials such as wood and wire, Tracey’s construction methods are deliberately naïve. Embellishment with layers of mixed media give spacial definition and offer symbols and insights into the nature of the concepts behind the pieces.
Danusha Komar specialises in creating future forward pieces using new technologies, such as 3D printing and laser cutting, which are manipulated and developed to suit various design outcomes including sculpture and accessories.

Fragments runs from 9 January to 13 February at the gallery, upstairs at the Foxlowe Arts Centre. Foxlowe Gallery is open Wednesday to Saturday 10am-4pm.
