Staffordshire Arts

With people set to celebrate the county’s first ever Staffordshire Day, community groups are being told that funding is available to put on arts activities and events to mark the occasion.

Staffordshire Day will take place on Sunday 1 May and will mark the anniversary of the creation of Staffordshire’s world-famous Wedgwood pottery company in 1795.

Communities, residents, schools and businesses are being encouraged to organise their own community activities with pots of cash available to do so.

Grants from £100 to £1000 available

Grants from £100 to £1000 are being made available to local groups and organisations through the Staffordshire Community Arts Fund to put on arts activities.

These could include; music, visual arts and crafts, combined arts, festivals/events, dance, photography, film and new media, performance arts, theatre /drama and literature.

The day is set to become an annual fixture on Staffordshire’s calendar, attracting more visitors to the area and helping local residents show their pride in their county.
