P!nk wows in live dance performance

Staffordshire Arts

American pop /rock upstart, Pink, wowed everyone with her original video, Try, which featured an amazingly aggressive and athletic piece of contemporary dance as its centrepiece.  Well, she has gone one better in pulling off the main elements from that compelling video in a live performance that is equally as stunning.

Seeing her performance, it’s not surprising then to learn that Pink, christened Alecia Beth Moore, was also a gymnast for eight years before becoming a pop star, and she has admitted in several interviews that her first dream was to become an Olympic gymnast – well before she had even considered music.  She certainly hasn’t left that part of her past behind, as all of her live performances are usually packed full of incredible aerial acrobatics

pink_try_1_187a2r2-187a2rbOur opinion is both the original video and the live performance is a truly inspirational piece of work which combine true dance artistry with contemporary pop music, and done by someone that could have got away with a lot less – and still delivered a great track.  But as a true artist she decided to creatively go the extra mile.

When Pink was last in Staffordshire she didn’t let the crowds down then either – with an amazing outdoor concert at Alton Towers, which commenced with her starting the show by  ‘dropping’ to the stage from a box positioned a few hundred feet above the stage.  She also ‘flew’ over the audience in a contraption that catapulted her over the crowd, as she sang ‘So What’ – you can see that video here

You can also see the original video for ‘Try’ here – Pink – Try (original Video).

Best of all you can catch the performance live for yourself in ‘Pink – Truth About Love UK tour’, with nearby options to see her in either Manchester or Birmingham during her April dates.  Details at www.thetruthaboutlovetour.com
