A free Artsmark and Arts Award twilight briefing session is to be held in Staffordshire designed to give arts and cultural education providers the chance to find out how they can show their commitment to high quality arts and culture.

Arts Award inspires young people to grow their arts and leadership talents: it’s creative, valuable and accessible.  Arts Award can be achieved at five levels, four accredited qualifications and an introductory award.

[h3]What is Artsmark?[/h3]

Artsmark is Arts Council England’s flagship programmeto enable schools and other organisations to evaluate, strengthen and celebrate their arts and cultural provision.

Artsmark is nationally recognised as demonstrating excellence in arts and cultural provision.  Any school, college or youth justice organisation in Staffordshire can apply for Artsmark.

[h3]Free Staffordshire briefing sessions[/h3]

The Staffordshire session takes place on 21 January 2014 in Newcastle-under-Lyme from 4pm until 5-30pm.  The session will begin with an overview of Artsmark & Arts Award, followed by an opportunity to discuss any queries with panel of experts

4.00 Arrivals & Refreshements

4.10 Arts Award & Artsmark overview

4.30 Two discussion groups (you can attend one or both)

4.30 – 5.00 First Sessions Artsmark (led by Judy McFall ) & Arts Award (led by Janette Bushell)

5.00 – 5.30 Second Sessions Artsmark (led by Judy McFall ) & Arts Award (led by Janette Bushell)

After the event, consultants will be available if there are any specific ssues you would prefer to raise individually

The event takes place at at Partners in Creative Learning (PICL), 14a King Street, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 1EJ on 21 January 2014.  The session is totally free, and you can reserve your space online here
