The deadline for each funding opportunity is different, and the deadline for the development programme is 30 April 2013 – so get your art on!

County Councillor Pat Corfield, Cabinet Member for Culture and Communities said:

[blockquote]We all know what a talented and creative county Staffordshire is. The Community Arts Fund is one way the county council can support groups and organisations that have the imagination and enthusiasm to develop high quality projects.[/blockquote]

This year organisations can apply for up to £800 towards the cost of their activity or event, and benefit in a similar way to Frontline Dance who received funding last year to create dance work with Staffordshire care home residents.

[blockquote]Last year we saw some fantastic events take place, and received applications from all over the county. This year we would like to see even more.[/blockquote]

Last year 52 organisations were funded. Projects ranged from jubilee celebrations, festivals and carnivals to theatre workshops for those with learning difficulties, intergenerational arts projects, dance workshops for care home residents and singing for groups with dementia and their carers.

The Community Arts Fund is available to any arts organisation or community group planning an arts project or event in Staffordshire which involves and benefits members of the community.
