The Regent Theatre in Stoke on trent will benefit from a Technical Apprenticeship programme being rolled out to more theatres this by venue owners, ATG, this September.

The roll out follows a succesful pilot scheme last year, and means that an Apprentice Theatre Technician will be based at The Regent Theatre Stoke-on-Trent for one year.

The programme has been made possible with continued support from the Creative Employment Programme and  Arts Council England Lottery funding.

John Young, Head of Technical Services for ATG, said

[blockquote]We are very proud to be expanding our Technical Apprenticeship programme. The scheme has been a great success in its pilot year and hugely rewarding for the apprentices, their mentors, their work colleagues and the business.[/blockquote]

The new Apprentice Theatre Technicians based in Stoke On Trent Staffordshire will have access to world class opportunities, using the most up to date equipment and techniques.
