A top notch panel of expert speakers from some of Staffordshire’s leading arts organsiations will be turning on the tap to increased access to quality arts and cultural experiences for children and young people at two events in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Tamworth.

Focussing on the difference that arts and cultural engagement can make to young people and children in the county, the two FREE events will take place at the New Vic Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme on 5 March and Tamworth Assembly Rooms on 11 March

They are being hosted by Nottingham arts development agency City Arts, and are aimed at arts providers & educators, artists, cultural organisations and youth and community groups who work with and support young people across Staffordshire.

[blockquote]An eclectic range of expert speakers will be coming together at the events to share their experiences of delivering high quality arts and cultural activities for and with young people. They include Arts Connect West Midlands, New Vic Theatre, Fired Up Theatre, B Arts, The Cultural Sisters, Laura Hastilow – Tamworth Arts Officer, April Lewis Consultancy and Fired Up Theatre.[/blockquote]

Each of them will be offering insights into what works and what doesn’t, with access to discovering their individual approaches to youth arts, how to engage children in arts, plus case studies and examples of past projects.

[h2]Partnerships and Collaboration[/h2]

A major aspect of the two events will be to explore how collaborations and strong partnertships can continue to be nurtured to realise the shared vision of bringing more high quality arts and cultural experiences to even more children and young people in Staffordshire.

This follows research already undertaken with Arts Connect West Midlands, which looked at the county wide provision of arts experiences for young people.

[blockquote]At the events our Staffordshire youth arts offer will be examined further, with the ambition of sharing ideas and expertise between sectors and increasing connectivity to support greater access to the very best youth arts experiences which can help children and young people thrive in Staffordshire.[/blockquote]
