A great story here about how the unique Red Carpet independent Cinema and Cafe Bar got funded, and how owner Kate Silverwood was able to realise her dream at the lovely waterfront Barton Marina location in East Staffordshire.
Given its size, the luxurious Red Carpet Cinema shows a massive range of films over its two small screens. These include the latest blockbusters – the exact ones on at the bigger multiplexes, as well as live event broadcasts of Opera, Ballet and National Theatre productions, and also showing of indie films too.
The films are shown throughout the day and evening, and even include special daytime ‘parent and toddler’ screenings.
The cafe bar and restaurant element means you can also book to have a nice meal too, and the speciality is home cooked pizzas.
They also run loads of special party nights, with live music.
We gather that their New Years Eve ‘May The Force Be With’ you event, featuring showing of the new Star Wars movie, live music and a three course supper has been sold out for months.
But they also have other live events to choose from.
All in all the Red Carpet Cinema is a brave investment by its owners, and one that is welcome on the independent cinema scene, and we’re fortunate they fought to choose Staffordshire to build it.
