The best UK comedy on the road today stops off in Staffordshire

jongleurs comedy on the road

The name Jongleurs is synonymous with stand up comedy – being one of the forerunners of the alternative comedy club craze back in the 80s.

Comedy clubs  sure have snowballed since then, with mainstream comedy clubs now being run in venues across Staffordshire that range from studio theatre spaces to hotel bars to farm barn yards.

But despite the widespread surge of comedy nights, (which is heartily welcomed of course), Jongleurs has managed to retain its credibility as one of the leaders in the pack – or should that be jokers?

Maria Kempinska is an award-winning businesswomanThe famous club was originally set up by ex drama teacher and award winning business woman Maria Kempinska who kickstarted the career of many leading names in stand up including the likes of Mickey Flanagan, Michael McIntyre, Harry Enfield, Eddie Izzard, Jo Brand, Jack Dee, Lee Evans, Paul Merton, David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and Dara O Briain … all who broke onto the scene with Maria’s help.
