A successful Staffordshire Arts festival will be aiming to show that Talent and Creativity only gets better with.

From 30 September -3 October 2015 the Staffordshire Live Age Festival will celebrate the artistic and creative works of talented, older people from across North Staffordshire.

Coinciding with UK Older People’s Day, activities will take place in local community centres, residential homes, theatres, museums and galleries – increasing the number of opportunities for people to get creative and to encourage those working in the community to integrate creativity into their work.

The festival, which is a continuing collaboration between Keele University and the New Vic Theatre, developed out of a partnership project based at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, where an annual ‘Creative Age Festival’ has been held since 2008.

Last year fourteen organisations came together to plan and put on Staffordshire’s first ever ‘Live Age Festival’. Held at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery and the Mitchell Arts Centre on October 1st and 2nd 2014, the festival celebrated continued creativity in later life and showcased the work and talents of local older people, arts organisations and practitioners across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.

This year’s programme includes new art commissions; a range of participatory workshops, film screenings, live music, performances and exhibitions.

The full programme of events can be found at the festival website www.liveagefestival.co.uk
